ARLINGTON, Texas -- Colby Lewis pitched seven innings for his 10th victory, Luis Sardinas doubled his career total with four RBIs and the Texas Rangers completed their first series sweep in nearly five months with a 10-3 win Sunday over the playoff-chasing Atlanta Braves. After being swept in three games to complete a 2-7 trip, the Braves were four games behind Pittsburgh for the National Leagues second wild card with 13 games left in the regular season. The good news is they headed back to Atlanta for a 10-game homestand. Michael Choice put the Rangers ahead to stay with an RBI triple in the second, and then added a two-run double in the fifth on a play when he got hurt running the bases and left the game. The only other series sweep for Texas this season was April 21-23 in a three-game set at Oakland. The last-place Rangers still have to win at least six of their last 13 games to avoid 100 losses. Lewis (10-13) allowed five hits and walked one. The only run on the right-handers line was a homer by Ryan Doumit in the seventh when the Rangers already led 10-0. Braves left-hander Mike Minor (6-11) lost his third consecutive September start, allowing five runs and eight hits while throwing 107 pitches in 4 2-3 innings. Sardinas, the rookie infielder who had four RBIs his first 35 games, drove in runs in three consecutive innings. His RBI double in the fourth made it 2-0, and then he had a run-scoring single in the Rangers six-run fifth and a two-run double in the sixth that made it 10-0. Choice had rounded first base and taken a couple of steps on his double in the fifth when he suddenly slowed and basically hopped into second base. He immediately clutched his left knee after getting to the bag. Interim manager Tim Bogar and a trainer immediately went out. After conferring briefly with Choice, they carried him off the field to keep any pressure off his left leg. The team said Choice had a strained left hamstring. An MRI was planned for Monday. The Rangers had their most runs since a 13-6 win at Houston on Aug. 29 and matched their season high with 18 hits. There were seven players with multiple hits, led by Sardinas, Leonys Martin and Robinson Chirinos with three apiece. TRAINERS ROOM Braves: Dallas-born C Evan Gattis missed his sixth consecutive game since being diagnosed with strep throat. Rangers: Rookie OF Jake Smolinski, who hit .389 in his first 11 major league games before a fracture in his left foot, could play for the first time since July 21 on the upcoming road trip if he comes out OK after running the bases. He has been taking batting practice. ... RHP Miles Mikolas (shoulder soreness) didnt feel good after playing catch and likely wont pitch again this season. UP NEXT Braves: RHP Ervin Santana goes for his 15th win Monday when Atlanta begins its homestand with the first of three against NL East-leading Washington. Rangers: After their last scheduled day off of the season, the Rangers begin their final road trip -- three games at AL wild-card contender Oakland starting Tuesday, and then a three-game set at the AL West-leading Los Angeles Angels. It was never close Friday as the Boston Red Sox got to Mark Buehrle early en route to an 8-1 win. Air Max 270 Saldi . According the CSNBayArea.com, the 31-year-old suffered an ACL injury in his right knee on Friday when he collided with Anaheims Emerson Etem during a pre-season game. https://www.scontatescarpeoutlet.it/scar...tate-c2366.html. And theyre pointing to the NHLs biggest market: Toronto. With Gretzky paid out for what is believed to be $7 to 8 million, Gretzky may be eager to get back into the NHL and TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger reports that the Maple Leafs are very much interested in The Great Ones services. The first gaffe came in the 24th minute of arguably the biggest early season MLS game in history between Seattle and Toronto. Sounder newcomer Marco Pappa, (with over 100 MLS games, and 39 Guatemalan Caps to his name) attempted a back pass to one of his central defenders. Now the Bournemouth full-back is being talked of as a potential England left-back. Adam Bate caught up with him to find out how he did it… Is Howe due more credit? Assessing Bournemouths impressive season under manager Eddie Howe. Given that Charlie Daniels started out playing for Ridgeway Rovers, the same youth club that launched the careers of David Beckham and Harry Kane, its tempting to feel that the Bournemouth left-back was destined to make it to the top. In truth, there are times when the Premier League adventure hes currently enjoying must have felt a long way off.It wasnt even an inevitability for Kane, the player who Daniels used to give a lift to Leyton Orients Chigwell training ground when the striker was on loan there as a teenager. After all, the last time that the pair played alongside each other ended in a 3-0 defeat to Tranmere. Even so, Daniels remembers the potential. Up against Arsenals Tomas Rosicky in an FA Cup tie for 2011 for Leyton Orient He grew up where I grew up so I got to know him really well, he tells Sky Sports. He was only 17 so he wasnt really built like he is now but his finishing with left foot and right foot, you could tell there was something special there.Hes taken his chance because he finally got his opportunity. Thats something that a lot of youngsters dont get at big clubs.Although delivered with an easy charm, its a pointed remark given that Daniels himself was released by Tottenham following three loan spells and not a single minute of first-team action. At least he could be grateful to former Spurs coach Martin Jol. It was his advice that set Daniels on a different path by encouraging him to convert from a left-winger into a left-back.The problem is that while a strikers goals can demand attention, a full-back can only do so much to get back to the top - particularly when still at Orient at the age of 25. Its through promotion that you get the chance, says Daniels. For a lot of defenders it has to happen that way, unless you play when youre very young. A lot of managers will buy players that have played in the league before. But there are a lot of players in the lower leagues who could play in the Premier League. Charlie Daniels Its all about getting that chance. Whether someone would sign you is another thing. A lot of managers will buy players that have played in the league before. Thats not a criticism of managers, thats their prerogative. But there are a lot of players in the lower leagues who could play in the Premier League. You can see them coming through. Look at Aaron Creswell [who scored the opener for Tranmere in that game against Orient in 2011] or Michail Antonio [who played league football with six clubs before joining West Ham]. Theres a drive to give English players who do well in the Championship their chance. I hope it continues. So does Daniels believe he was ready for his chance back then? Id like to think I was, he says. With the coverage you get now, you can watch and analyse so many games so its quite easy to compare it to how you play. I always felt that if I did get the opportunity, I was prepared. I knew what to do and I knew how Id play if I did get the chance. Winning promotion from the Championship last season with Bournemouth Thankfully, I got it with Bournemouth. And if Im honest, I didnt really think itd be with Bournemouth. I dont think many of the lads did either. It was manager Eddie Howe who changed all that and after the Cherries got to the second tier, belief continued to grow. It was after wed played our first season in the Championship, says Daniels. We got to the end of the season and we all said to each other, We can win this league. There was no team in there that we feared or we felt was better than us. So our goal the following season was to get to the play-offs. Then we got to January time and wed played everyone and we really did realise we could win it. Thats what happened.Getting to the top flight for the first time in the clubs history was a story in itself. Instead, Bournemouth have enjoyed themselves in the Premier League and go into the weekend 10 points clear of the drop zone. Perhaps most remarkably, theyve done so by playing with the same style and much of the same personnel. Daniels hasnt missed a game since September. Daniels has scored three goals this season including a penalty against West Brom The gaffer said at the first meeting in pre-season that we were not going to change our philosophy, he says.dddddddddddd. This is the way he wants his team to play and the message was that we just had to get better at it. At the start of the season we were actually playing well but we werent getting the results. Thats when you start to think this could be a long season. There was a lot of media attention around the club and deservedly so given what had been achieved. I wouldnt say we got lost in it, but losing on the first day [to Aston Villa] was a big reminder that we had to step up. But once we settled down and got the euphoria out of the way, we started playing our brand of football and picking up points. We havent looked back. Only Matt Ritchie has more assists than Daniels for Bournemouth this season Daniels has thrived. As well as getting through his defensive work, he has scored three goals, provided five assists - only Matt Ritchie can match that - and completed more dribbles than anyone else at the club. Hes even been able to take his partnership with winger Marc Pugh into the Premier League too - one forged back in English footballs third tier.Im always wanting to learn, watching other players and their styles, says Daniels. When we were coming though the leagues, me and Marc watched lots of clips of Leighton Baines and Steven Pienaar and their combination play. Guys like Jordi Alba and Marcelo in Spain, with their enthusiasm and willingness to get forward, are great to watch as a left-back too. Defenders - Distance covered in PL 2015/16 Player Team Distance Craig Dawson West Brom 389.2 km Simon Francis Bournemouth 358.1 km Charlie Daniels Bournemouth 356.0 km Toby Alderweireld Tottenham 355.3 km Hector Bellerin Arsenal 354.5 m For a defender to make that sort of attacking contribution in a newly-promoted team like Bournemouth requires serious energy levels. Daniels has covered more ground than any other left-back in the Premier League - and one of the two defenders above him is Simon Francis, the man on the other flank. Its been hard work but Ive enjoyed the hard work, says Daniels. Every time you get promoted, you have to improve yourself in every aspect of your game to match the demands of the next level. We put a lot of emphasis on our fitness at the start of the season because we knew that would be the bare minimum that we were going to need. Daniels has completed more dribbles than any other Bournemouth player The way we play is so expansive with the way we use the full-backs and the wide-play combinations but we also knew we werent going to have as much of the ball. So weve had to press the other teams and nullify their threats. Thats probably why Im up there on those stats. Its not gone unnoticed. Daniels was even linked with an England call-up in February. To even be mentioned is a proud feeling. It makes me feel like Im doing things right and improve even more, he says. Maybe that chance wont come. But even at 29, Daniels journey isnt done yet. I always just try to improve that little bit each week and you become a better player over time, he adds. Its taken time, but Charlie Daniels has got there in the end. Also See: Is Howe due more credit? Latest Bournemouth news ' ' '
